The Three Rivers Montessori Board of Directors Meeting on 8/16/22 provided a vote on the new and updated TRM COVID Safety Plan. Some significant changes to COVD-19 protocols were made with the new CDC guidance at TRM while maintaining certain current protocols to keep students learning in person in a healthy environment. The changes were made to ensure TRM is providing an exceptional learning opportunity for your children while keeping the physical and mental health of students at the heart of decisions.
Many families have asked to view the special meeting regarding COVID plans from September of 2021meeting at a later time. Please see this link in order to view the Zoom recording: https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/UOmRCaxKdJCzLgvuhDTHI1r3lvnxsy3l8ecAItVRpCJZY-YOqu9JBL-223siEpiZ.31ROVN70OEs1Re49 Passcode: #s6wfu2v
All updates (including current protocols that have not changed) are included below.
Thank you to our families for sharing your thoughts and opinions regarding COVD-19 protocols as TRM. Will look forward to continuing to serve our community while building our Montessori program!
MASKING
The current masking policy stands. Masks are optional for students and staff. Individuals who wish to wear them are strongly encouraged to do so.
ADDITIONAL PROTOCOLS
TRM will sanitize frequently, especially high touch surfaces and high traffic areas.
We also ask families to screen for more common and less common symptoms detailed in the “COVID Safety Plan” below.
Individual classrooms will continue to function as “cohorts” to limit exposure for students and teachers.
CLOSE CONTACT COMMUNICATION - WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IF THERE IS A POSITIVE CASE IN THE CLASSROOM (STUDENT OR STAFF MEMBER)
[YOUR CHILD’S NAME] was identified as a close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID. Your child’s last date of contact with the positive case was [DATE OF CONTACT].
Your child is not required to quarantine at this time and may continue to attend school provided no symptoms of illness are present.
If your child exhibits any of the major symptoms listed in the COVID Safety Plan (attached below) before [14 DAYS FROM DATE OF CONTACT], please keep the child home, call in an absence to the school, and consider having the child tested for COVID.
If you choose not to have your child tested for COVID, your child must stay home until all symptoms have resolved.
If you choose to have your child tested for COVID, your child should stay home until the test result is known. If the result is negative, your child may return to school as soon as symptoms resolve and your child feels well enough to return. If the test is positive, your child should isolate for 5 days from symptom onset and may return to school after the isolation period is complete and the child feels well enough to return.
Please contact TRM at 763.595.1213 with questions.
TRM “READY FOR SCHOOL” REQUIREMENTS
Updated 8/16/22
Three Rivers Montessori School requires parents and guardians to evaluate their child(ren) daily BEFORE sending them to school.
If the school is notified of a positive COVID-19 test result and your child(ren) is identified as a close contact (defined as within 6 ft. of the individual for 15 minutes or more throughout the day) parents/guardians will be notified and may decide whether to have their student(s) stay home as long as they are symptom free (based on the protocol below). Students with severe symptoms MUST stay home based on the protocol below.
If a student has a positive COVID-19 test result, please notify TRM administration immediately.
Individuals who test positive will complete a 5 day isolation period at home. 5 days starts the day after the onset of symptoms or the date of a positive test result if asymptomatic.
If your child(ren) has been exposed (via the close contact definition) to another individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and your family chooses to quarantine, please monitor your child for symptoms and see the symptom protocol below.
